New House Bill Proposes Severe Impacts on Student Financial Aid

Pending legislation to reshape federal student aid
There is currently a Republican House-led bill that proposes substantial changes to financial assistance for both undergraduate and graduate students, including students aiming to finance their professional education.
Proposed changes include elimination of subsidized Stafford loans, primarily affecting middle and lower income students. There are also plans affecting loan forgiveness, repayment timelines, Federal Work Study as well as placing limits on parent private loans.
