About Marla Platt

Marla Platt has coached and tutored a wide range of students for over twenty years,

ranging from students with substantial learning differences to those bound for the most highly selective colleges and universities.

As both an alumna of and interviewer for Cornell University, Marla brings perspective to her student clients on putting one’s best foot forward in person as well as in an application.
In addition to holding an MBA from Boston University, Marla is also trained as a Personal Coach, enabling her to bring highly developed skills in communication, collaboration and organization to working with students and parents.

In addition, Marla has provided coaching to Babson College undergraduates through the school’s Coaching for Leadership and Teamwork Program, helping students to recognize individual performance strengths and target areas for development.

A graduate of the Independent Educational Consultants Association’s (IECA) Principles and Practices Institute, Marla fully subscribes to the professional and ethical guidelines of college consulting.
As a parent of teens, she is highly sensitive to the demands placed upon young people during their late high school years and the value of supportive teamwork during the college application process.
